Lympne Castle
I said to my husband “Let’s go look at this castle tomorrow”. He replied “We’re not buying a castle”. The rest is history (literally).

Front of the Chateau Palace
Chateau Palace
This was the first home we bought together. For years we rented, we focused on putting the kids through school and enjoying life. Owning a place was not an option, but it didn’t matter – we were happy. We looked for a place in the Bridal Path for a few years. I went to auctions and looked for properties in receivership or something that was palatial enough for our large family but also a good investment (not to mention something we could afford at the time). The house we ended up purchasing was "off-market" (meaning not listed). We were on the radar and had an opportunity to purchase the house at land value. Years later, as we moved from Toronto to London, we decided to renovate. The renovations became a rebuild, and the rebuild of a house evolved into the erection of a palace.
